RATES

Three packages. Three commitments. All retainers — all designed to build a cinematic library worth keeping.

SEE THE PACKAGES

Gare Jesse Production works exclusively in retainer relationships. We don’t take one-off projects, and we don’t quote bespoke scopes. The studio has three packages, designed for three different stages of brand commitment to cinema. Each one is built around the same architecture — a monthly shoot day, a monthly deliverable count, and a director on call. What changes between them is intensity, depth, and the length of the partnership.

Choose the tier that matches where your brand is right now. Most clients start at one and grow into the next.

THE PACKAGES / RETAINERS ONLY

All prices in USD per month. Most clients land on The Standard.

The Quarterly

Entry-tier retainer. For brands testing the partnership.

$2,500/ month

3-month minimum · Total $7,500

A starting point. Three months of cinematic work with the director — long enough to prove the model, build your first set of films, and establish the visual register your brand will work in going forward.

Each month includes
  • One shoot day with the director
  • 8 deliverables — 1 hero film + 6 cutdowns + 1 portrait series
  • Direct access to the director via Slack or WhatsApp
  • Colour grade, sound mix, two rounds of revisions
  • 3-week delivery cycle from each shoot

Over 3 months: 3 shoot days, 24 deliverables, a director on call.

Best fit: Series A founders, early-stage fintech, brands launching a new product line, foundations piloting a content program.

The Annual

Studio Partner tier. For brands committed to a year of cinema.

$7,500/ month

12-month minimum · Total $90,000

The deepest version of the partnership. The director becomes your studio of record for the year — embedded in your storytelling calendar, present for the projects that don’t fit a monthly cadence, and producing your annual brand documentary as part of the engagement.

Each month includes
  • Two shoot days + one extended quarterly production block
  • 25+ deliverables, calibrated to your monthly content calendar
  • Full embedded director access — strategy, storytelling, planning
  • Priority production scheduling across all African markets
  • Colour, sound, and unlimited in-scope revisions

Plus, once in the 12 months: a full brand documentary (5–8 min). Multi-day shoot, original score, festival-grade colour and sound — otherwise a $25–35K standalone, included.

Best fit: Pan-African foundations, enterprise fintech across multiple markets, major institutions, brands committed to cinema as an operating rhythm.

THE DETAIL / WHAT YOU GET

What a deliverable is — and how travel works.

What counts as a deliverable

A deliverable is a finished, colour-graded, sound-mixed, exported piece of work — suitable for publication, delivered in the formats and lengths specified in your package. That includes hero films (60–120 seconds), social cutdowns (15–30 seconds, vertical and horizontal), portrait series (10–15 stills per session), and mid-format edits (3–5 minute behind-the-scenes, founder interviews, or process films).

It does not include raw footage, intermediate revisions, planning documents, or behind-the-scenes captures we record during shoots. Those are bonus material delivered alongside every project — not counted against your quota. Every package delivers complete, finished work. We don’t ship rough cuts.

Travel & multi-market production

Gare Jesse Production is based in Kigali, Rwanda. Production within Rwanda is included at all tier prices.

For shoots in Lagos, Cape Town, Accra, Kampala, Addis Ababa, Dakar, and other African markets, travel and crew assembly are billed at a transparent flat rate per market — typically $1,500–3,500 per shoot day depending on location and crew complexity. Travel costs are quoted before the shoot, never after. No surprises. The Annual tier includes preferential multi-market scheduling — we plan continent-wide shoots in production blocks to minimise travel and maximise shoot days.

HOW IT WORKS / FOUR STEPS

No account managers. The treatment is the contract.

  1. 01

    Discovery call.

A 15-minute conversation. You tell us about the brand. We tell you whether Gare Jesse Production is the right partner. We turn down about 40% of inquiries on this call — sometimes the budget is wrong, sometimes the brief is wrong, sometimes another studio is a better fit. We’ll say so.

  2. 02

    Treatment.

Within 48 hours of a fit-aligned discovery call, we send a two-page treatment: the creative vision, the deliverables, the timeline, the price for your specific engagement.

  3. 03

    Agreement.

50% invoiced on signature. Production begins. The director leads every project — never handed down to a producer or account manager.

  4. 04

    Delivery.

Every monthly batch delivered within 3 weeks of the corresponding shoot day. Final 50% invoiced on first delivery.

05

FREQUENTLY / ASKED

The objections, pre-empted.

Why retainers only?

Because cinema is built through relationship, not transaction. The films we’re proud of are made with brands we know — clients we’ve spent enough time with to understand their voice, their team, their audience. One-off projects don’t build that. Retainers do.

Can I upgrade between tiers?

Yes. Many Quarterly clients move to Standard at the 3-month renewal. Many Standard clients move to Annual at the 6-month renewal. You’re never locked into a tier — only into the commitment length of your current package.

What if I want more deliverables in a month than my tier covers?

Simple: we add additional deliverables at a per-piece rate, or you upgrade tiers. We’ll always recommend the more economical option for your needs.

Do you work with brands outside Africa?

Occasionally. The studio is built around African brands and stories, but we work with international brands when the project is rooted on the continent — African market-entry films, diaspora storytelling, foundations with African programs. We don’t take work that asks us to shoot in places we don’t know.

What does the discovery call cost?

Nothing. The first conversation is always free, and frequently ends with us saying Gare Jesse Production isn’t the right fit and recommending another studio. We’d rather be a no than a wrong yes.

Are these prices negotiable?

The package architecture isn’t. The line items inside a treatment (travel, additional deliverables, language versions) are scoped to your project and discussed openly. We don’t discount packages, and we don’t enter competitive bidding processes — both undermine the work and the relationship.

What’s your refund policy?

There isn’t one. Retainer payments are non-refundable once a shoot day has been scheduled. We don’t take payment before we know we can deliver, and we deliver everything we commit to.

READY TO TALK?

BOOK A DISCOVERY CALL.

Fifteen minutes. We’ll tell you on the call whether Gare Jesse Production is the right partner. If it isn’t, we’ll recommend a studio that is.
